DJ Contest Rules & Guidelines
GENERAL RULES FOR PARTICIPATION
The contest is open to DJs of all skill levels, amateur or professional. Participants must be at least 18 years old.
DJs must send us a wetransfer link with a 60-minute video mix (Mp4).
The video should include a EXCLUSIVE live performance recording.
The artist needs to be recognisable and the performance needs to be all visible, we need to see the dj’s physical performance to evaluate the skills.
The sound quality is really important for us, if you send us a bad quality audio file we might not even listen.
The submission needs to have the artist and contest names (ex: Dj Name @ Spacemonkeys UK – Psy in the City II).
step by step
1 – RECORD A 60 MINUTES PSY TRANCE DJ SET VIDEO
The dj set needs to be PSY TRANCE genre. Wrong genre will not be accepted. The mix must be created specifically for the contest, no previously released sets.
2 – DJ NEED TO CREATE A ACCOUNT ON OUR WEBSITE (COMPLETE AT LEAST 50% OF YOUR PROFILE)
DJs must create an account on our website to submit their entry and to be tagged.
3 – UPLOAD YOUR VIDEO TO WETRANSFER AND SEND US THE DOWNLOAD LINK BY PRIVATE MESSAGE TO SPACEMONKEYS UK PROFILE.

4 – WE WILL UPLOAD YOUR VIDEO IN THE CONTEST GROUP AND ITS DONE.

HOW TO GET EXTRA ENGAGEMENT
A – Participants are encouraged to post a teaser (e.g., 1-minute highlight) from their mix using the following hashtag #CONTEST , #SPACEMONKEYSUK , #JJEVENTS and #PSYINTHECITY).
B – Participants must tag SPACEMONKEYS UK , JJ EVENTS and PSY IN THE CITY Instagram & Facebook pages.
Entries with high engagement (likes, shares, comments) may receive extra points, but final judgment is based on the dj skills.
JUDGING CRITERIA
CREATIVITY, TRACK SELECTION, TRANSITIONS, AND ORIGINALITY ARE THE KEYS.
These competitions give DJs a platform to demonstrate their skills. mixing, track selection and creativity. All while getting noticed by event organizers, promoters, and industry insiders. Winning (or even just participating) can lead to gigs, collaborations, and a stronger presence in the music scene.
A mix of public votes (social media engagement) and a jury panel will determine the winners.
The jury will be made up of 1 member from Spacemonkeys UK, 1 member from JJ Events and 2 resident Djs from Psy In The City.
In case of a draw, the contest will be solved through engagement.
All entries must be submitted before de deadlines. Late submissions will not be considered.
Winners will be announced on your website and social media.
The winners will get the opportunity to perform at PSY IN THE CITY II hosted by JJ Events.
